| Yoga Styles at YOUR YOGA SPACE:
Hatha: these classes focus on enhancing the accuracy and alignment of postures thus improving physical and mental awareness. During this moderate form of yoga, holding postures boosts your stamina and concentration. Hatha yoga is recommended for beginners but is variable enough to keep experienced students challenged. These classes provide a very varied practice, sometimes moving quickly through sun salutations to build heat, other times moving slowly and deliberately.
Vinyasa: this form of yoga connects each movement to breath thus deepening your focus and meditation, as you flow from posture to posture. This faster paced yoga can boost your strength and fitness providing a cardio workout and challenge (Yang yoga).
Journey: In order to capitalise on the holistic benefits of yoga, Catherine Rogers has developed Journey Yoga which is a physical practice but has more emphasis on yogic philosophy, meditation and the mind than most yoga classes. Participants are encouraged to incorporate yogic and psychological philosophies into their practice and life through 'thought projects'.
Dance of the Warrior, Flight of the Bird: A flow class focusing on breathing through empowering warrior postures and uplifting arm balances. An empowering practice of awareness, balance and strength. Dance like a warrior preparing for battle and prepare to take flight like angelic birds.
Satyananda: This style of hatha yoga provides a practical, systematic step- by- step approach to the practice of an integrated yoga class. The style is suitable for all ages because it can be adjusted to suit any age or level of fitness. As teachers we are also trained to look at individual needs and have an understanding that every student is different with regards to physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects. The approach of Satyananda teachings incorporates the whole person, not just the body. Focus is placed on awareness and students explore their personality by integrating the aspects of Yoga into a balanced lifestyle.Change takes place naturally as a consequence of regular practice.
Intensives: These classes are designed to challenge you! A combination of yin and yang yoga. Held on a monthly basis. The class lasts 1 hour 30mins.
Children: Essential non-competitive physical and mental exercise providing vital coping mechanism for a healthy life.
Private Classes: If the timetable does not suite you or you have particular needs we offer private yoga classes. |
